New Town Action Area 3, Kolkata: Area Guide

New Town is planned in three action areas. Action Area I is the oldest and most saturated, Action Area II carries the business district and Eco Park, and Action Area III is the newest, extending east toward Bhojerhat and the Infosys campus. Because it was developed last, it holds the largest remaining land parcels, which is why township-scale projects like the 18.9-acre Vinayak 21 Acres are possible here and no longer possible in Action Area I.

Infosys anchors the zone, and Vinayak 21 Acres sits 400 metres from its gate. Wipro and ITC Infotech are within a five to ten minute drive, and Salt Lake Sector V, Kolkata's established IT hub, is reachable in roughly 18 to 22 minutes. For an IT household, that turns a daily one-hour commute into a walk, which is the single biggest reason buyers choose Action Area III over the older action areas.

HIDCO's upcoming City Centre III, the third-generation retail and civic hub planned for this zone, is roughly a three minute drive away and is under construction. Schools, hospitals and retail already serving New Town are accessible along the 6-lane highway, which is 200 metres from the township gate. Day-to-day needs inside Vinayak 21 Acres are covered by five clubhouses, a 3-acre central park and a 22,000 sq.ft. sports ground.
